Ministries
Outreach Ministry
Over the past ten years the Lord has allowed our church to be involved in quite a few “organized” outreach ministry opportunities. It is a joy and a blessing to see God work in and through His people to minister the love of Christ.
Local Jail Ministry
Twice a month a team goes into the local jail and lead a Bible Study entitled “The Essential Doctrines of the Faith”.
Disaster Relief Ministry
In 2017 and 2018 we had the privilidge to serve those suffering for disasters. We did both mudout work and feeding for the victims. We served in Port Arthur TX (Harvey), McAllen TX (Flooding), Dillon SC (Florance), and Port St Joe FL (Michael).
Sports Camp
2012 brought about a “different” type of summer outreach ministry to children. For the past 5 years Faith has hosted Sports Ministry Outreach who has led us in a “Sports Camp” for children in the community. With adult and youth leaders from our church we have conducted a baseball/softball camp and a soccer camp last year. These camps feature “coaching stations” where the children are taught basic skills of the sport. Each day the children hear a life lesson and a sportsmanship lesson at which time the Gospel is shared. It has been a fun time for all involved.
Mission Trips
July 4th – 11th of 2017, 6 people from our church (4 adults & 2 youth) traveled to Corinto, Nicaragua to work with “Little Ones Ministry”. They were able to help complete two homes while there as well as sharing the love of Christ with the children .
In past years we have done a “Family Mission Trip”. This has allowed entire families to go and serve the Lord together. We have been able to lead a two day block party in a community here in Fredericksburg. We have gone to “Beautiful Feet” ministry in the Fort Worth area. We have done Backyard Bible Clubs at apartment complexes and repair and reconstruction of homes damaged from hurricanes. The Lord has allowed us to do witnessing and outreach in multicultural communities, prayer walks in neighborhoods, as well as helping a “new church start” in Big Spring, TX by doing Vacation Bible School and evening activities for Youth and Adults. The Lord is good and is greatly to be praised!!!
Family Ministry
The phrase “family” at Faith Baptist Church may refer to one’s own personal family or the Church family as a whole. As the case may be, Faith Baptist seeks to emphasize both of these families by planning activities that strengthen both. Church family activities that have been planned have included Wednesday evening fellowship meals, retreats , camping, mission trips, “work days” around the church, Sunday evening fellowships and game times, etc. Things which pertain to one’s immediate family would include periodic classes that focus on marriage, parents, youth, and children (who do not meet separately every week of the year). We at Faith Baptist believe strong families mean strong churches.
